Paul, yes we normally have between 6-8 shooters
I think we would be a bit crowded with more than ten, but would get by somehow I guess.
As to torquing the USFT barrel block. First, always have some pressure in the gun when you do final tightening, to establish the correct breech closing gap.
I tighten the non-clamp side first, around 15-17ftlbs, then slowly tighten the clamp side while seeing if I can twist the barrel ... when it just BEGINS to get tight, I push the barrel against the breechblock with it 3/4 closed, then tighten it about another half-turn. I used to use a torque wrench, but now mostly go by "feel" ... too loose an the barrel can eventually blow forward a little under firing pressure an leak at the o'ring while firing .... too tight an the barrel bore is "squeezed" a little an (might) affect accuracy.
I like to "clock", or register the barrel the way some rimfire guys do ... and feel mostly (but now always) that they usually shoot best when they are shooting at the lowest point. I usually try a barrel in each rotational quadrant for grouping once I've done about every other thing.
Theres over a thousand USFT related posts in that USFT club folder.
