My friends:

I'm old, and wore out....spent the day with the new Eley....

Today, I shot the new Tenex, red box, in the new container......Eley has had some terrible containers in the past, but, now, they got it right...

The new box is like the old Russian box, a sliding tray you push out with your finger.......or the copy that Federal used for their boxes......

Eley took the new box one step further....they made the end flap so it tears away, and, the new box will snap shut when you close it so the box and contents won't scatter if you drop them.....awesome.....

Because the end flap tears away, and, the other end has the thumb hole, to push the tray out, Eley now puts the Lot Number and velocity on the "side" of the box, so it won't get lost...

MY friends at Eley......the new box is "perfect".....I love a good box....

Now, my friends, I tested some of the new Red Box, Tenex, this day, all day....I know its Red Box and expensive, I CAN'T AFFORD IT....

But Man, I mean man, some of it is simply killer!!!! I double blinded it with every good lot I have...some of this new red box is KILLER!!!!

For my good friends in Missouri that tried this latest shipment of Eley.....and it didn't work too good for you.....I'm sure there will be another shipment before long....

For the rest of you folks....I ain't got no answers....I can't afford the new Red Box......but man, some of it is simply killer! I don't know what to do...

I want to thank my good friend Bob Collins again....Bob, I know how much you work with he position shooters at Perry, and us Benchrest shooters and the folks at Ft. Benning, to do all you can to get them the best ammo in the world.....I thank you as do so many others.....

What do you call "some of it is a killer" ? What % out of what ? I am still shooting UM1 and 900. Thank you.

If anyone wants to test this new Killer ammo just come on down to the RBA Nationals this weekend.:D
Bob will be at the Palmetto Range today thru Sunday with test lots so shooters will have a chance to determine for themselves what is Killer and what is Not:eek:

Since I am unable to make it to the east coast for testing, Please send me a case of the killer ammo. Don't send me the non-killer please.

Suggestion

Dale:
I order some test lots of Match on Tuesday and UPS delivered it this morning. Of course I ordered it from Killough Shooting Sports. The big plus, is I got what I ordered, no substitutes. I'll have to admit, the new Match is much better than I expected.

Thanks Fred. I'm already going through a case of red box that I got from Gene Davis when he sent my new rifle. The speed is 1044. He bought the case back from another customer that never used it and it tested good so I bought it at the old prices. Gene just sent out his allotment of ammo for sale and very very few lots are less than 1065 FPS. :(

What I was told

When talking to someone that buys a lot of Eley, he had inquired as to why the speeds available today are so much higher than in the past. The answer he got, was the primer they are using now, is hotter and produces higher pressure, thus higher velocities. Still some dealers get the lower velocity ammo first. I started swithing barrels arond until I found one that would handle the higher velocities and then test those. so far, so good. We'll see what happens Saturday night. What shot good in the heat last week, may or may not shoot in the cooler air we expect Saturday night.

Friend Jon:

I'm kinda of a dumb guy....but, I have a gift, that God has given me, I suppose, that allows me to see folks who are killer shooters!

Jon, I consider you to be one of the most naturally talented, accuracy shooters, I have ever met......and my friend, I think I have told you this, face to face at places like Borden...

Jon, apply your God gifted talents my friend....
