I can't afford $15 a box for ammo.......
For what it's worth:
I've been testing the latest Eley shipment...
Some pretty good black box, the 5200 is pretty darn killer......the 1142 is also pretty darn good........
Anyway, I got some red box to test....which I can't afford.....
I went to the range, when I left the house, the flag across the street was limp......
Got to the range, switching winds......dang it...
A guy was set up, at the bench, right side, with flags, and targets out to 200 yards.....shooting some rimfires...
I started to back out and go home, but, what the heck.....
I got out my stuff, set things up.......the gentleman says, " want to put up a target?"....I said, "thanks", I will....
I didn't want to take time to set up flags...so I put up a target.....
Wind was switching, bad.....
I thought, " Bill, go home"..
I shot some of the black box....so-so.....in the switching conditions...
I sat there a bit, then, decided to get out some of the red box and shoot it......?? I can't afford red box....
I had been shooting at an RBA target.....which has a bunch of sighter bulls all around the outside of it....
I went down to the bottom of the target, then reached for a box of red box...I picked up lot 1008-04237, at, 1047 velocity.....
I started shooting groups, on the bottom sighter bulls of the RBA target....
My GOD, no flags, switching wind, MAN, simply killer......
After the start of the second group, the gentleman hollered to me, "man, are you aiming at the same bull?"
I said yes....he was watching me...
Long story short.......my friends, I shot seven, 5-shot groups, with that red box, in that switching wind, with no flags, through SPEC 7, (SOLD)...
Killer, I mean Killer!!!!!!!! NO, DOUBLE KILLER!
I then shot 1008-04239, red box, at , 1061 velocity...man, it's close....
My friends:
I simply love this game.........I came home and got some of the most outstanding lots of ammo I have....I double-blinded them against that 1047, red box stuff.....it's the best lot of ammo I've ever tested.............
I put in an order for some.......I may, or may not, get any......I understand, and accept this..........it's part of our game.......
My friends, I ain't got a pot to piss in (sorry Wilbur), but, how bad do I want to win?
My friends at Eley......you made this ammo, you can surley make more!
