We had a really nice shoot. Decent turnout, and it was warm and sunny ... unfortunately, it was a bit windy as well. We got to see Tim's necktie wind indicator straight out quite a few times. Shooting was a bit tough, with lots of us having trouble even hitting the black, let alone shooting a tight group! To me it seemed the wind never stayed constant for more than a few seconds at a time.

Roger Lovett backed up his win last time by winning again this time ... by a larger margin, too! Even with his finne shooting, he didnt quite nip the 1 m.a.o aggregate threshold we all secretly strive for.

After the shooting, we had a nice potluck lunch with the usual burgers, sausages, salad, mixed fruits etc. Mat Saenz brought some really fresh strawberries ... yum!

Here are the results:

Shooter Gun type Caliber 30 group size (ctc) aggregate

Roger Lovett, USFT .549"

L.D. USFT .22 .643"

Matt Kellerman USFT .22 .677

Matt Saenz Typhoon .22 .749"

Vince Pacheco USFT .20 .771

Dave Fredrick USFT .177 .917

Tim McMurray USFT .22 .945

Rich Woods Walther .22 1.008"

Where can I get a copy of the rules for airgun benchrest??

There are several different sets of rules I know of

But the ones we use at Temecula, so far as I know, are unique, and thus might not be useful to you.

We allow about any and all safe airguns of .22 caliber and under, and use any sort of rest so long as the gun can be lifted directly straight up out of the rest without loosening anything. Three windflags are allowed per shooter and they may be placed in his field of view so long as they do not a detriment to the view of another shooter's target or flags. Any type of sight is allowed.

We shoot from 50 yards, firing three shots at each of ten bulls, plus unlimited sighters during each 20 minute session, with the match consisting of three targets, for a total of 90 shots fired at thirty targets. Scoring is by measuring the group sizes and posting the aggregate for the total of all thirty groups. Penalties of one inch per infraction are added by the scorer for each missing or extra shot on any target.

Precharged guns must fire each session (30 shots plus sighters) without recharging during the session.

I shot Air Gun BR at Prado with Miike Sosenko back before the last flood washed us out. I have a Walthar rifle. Do your rules allow the air tank connected to the rifle as I saw the San Diego shooters had that shot with us ?
