Sunday was first effort using the International targets Rich Wood had made up for us. We shot only at 25 meters, forgoing our usual 50M shoot because the rain was slowing things down. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty dismal during the match. I had anticipated the rain, so I cleaned up the and built an extra table to allow us to shoot on the upper, or "West Range" so we still had a fine shoot, and with the picnic area being covered, we were ok there too (the Sun came out once we were done shooting anyhow).

We had several shooters, including myself trying the reduced power level the international rules specify. And most of us were having teething problems with the new settings. I made my very first shots with the new lighter JSB pellets just before the match began. Rich was trying his co2 gun at temps dropping below 60F for sure.

As usual, swirling winds, but its the first time I noticed just HOW windy it was inside the garage, as we had a flag halfway in the garage in the propeller was often spinning merrily!

Results:

Shooter, trgt 1, trgt 2, trgt 3, total note

Matt Saenz, 240/7X, 245-11X, 248/13X, 733/31X 30fpe USFT

Roger Lovett, 244/8X, 247;9X, 241/10X, 732/27X 32fpe USFT

Larry Durham 239/4X, 240/8X, 243/9X, 722/21X 19fpe USFT

Roger Lovett 244/7X, 240/3X, 236/5X, 720/15X 20fpe USFT

Tim McMurray 236/5X, 241/6X, 234/8X, 711/19X 20fpe USFT

Matt Kellerman 236/8X, 237/7X, 236/6X, 710/21X 20fpe USFT

Larry Pirrone 234/2X, 234/5X, 224/5X, 692/12X 11.5fpe TX200

Rich Wood 217, 224/1X 184 625 Walther 850, co2

Matt Saenz somehow manages to win by the slimmest of margins at every opportunity!

Well, there's always next month!

Larry,
Thanks for posting the scores.
Rich,
Great pictures!

I have giving up trying to get a .22 shooting under 20 fpe. Have put a .20 on my USFT and a Rapid. Will see which one does better but will shoot both in Dec.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving !

Paul

Good Shooting!

Looks like you won the 20fpe and Under Race but the 30plus fpe rigs reigned supreme for the day!

Rich was shooting CO2?!?! CO2 in probably sub 60degree weather ?!?!?

What pellet were you shooting?

Thanks for the report!

Regards,

Tony

I tried the 850 CO2 rifle ( 12 FPE) on my 3rd target using JSB 8.4 just to test it in those conditions...(57 F).

...my first two scores were with my 850 HPA .177/20 FPE rifle using JSBH...

Wow, cool temps for C02 for sure!!! Good shooting Rich!

Thanks Paul,

Yes, you may be right. Though I havent given up on mine, because I know the pellets I used that day werent all that good in my gun, I'm going to keep going for a bit more. BUT, just in case, I'm setting up my FT rifle for BR as well, and will see how it does soon. My FT rifle has a pretty decent barrel, plus I have a couple other good barrels put away for safekeeping that could do the trick as well.

We really wern't set up that well Sunday, and feel we will all do better over the next few matches.
