I enjoy this dude's videos tremendously. His videos about "zero flyers" interest me, he seems to know his stuff.....He won something called "Extreme Benchrest" in 2016 using an FX air rifle.

Is this legit BR?

Is this similar to, or something like what you guys here shoot?

something similar, yes, but not exactly the same, here we are following the same basic format as .22 rf at a reduced distance 25 yards, not about group size but clipping than dang pinprick of a dot for an x, 25 times in a row in a specific time length. The time function and mother nature seldom agree of course so it becomes paramount to read the wind and the subtle nuances of the particular range indoor or out. It sounds so simple till you sit down and try it. Makes Olympic style prone shooting almost child's play. What Ted is shooting as sponsored by a retailer is at long range like out to 100 yards ( yep with an air rifle about the equivalent of 1000 yards center fire) I do not know all the details on it. Once a year shoot. Anyway it is a big feather in his hat. He does various reviews of new equipment and pretty well respected in that arena. Check out the "Yellow Forum" dedicated to air guns. There really isn't much new in air guns - but the application and science of same has changed tremendously over the past 15 years or so. Like rimfire pretty much stuck with projectiles made by various mfg. and their quality control. Barrels are an area that is slowly coming around along with twist rates-the projectile sizes are slightly smaller than their rim and center fire compatriots so barrel makers are not readily equipped to mfg. these. A tight bore .22 rimfire comes close, powder burners in .17 are a bit large as well as the rest up the line diameter wise. Air rifles are like a mix of blackpowder and center fire as projectile ( Primarily lead alloy) speeds are closer to the black and the rifles/pistols themselves have the refinements of current rim/center fire arms. It is a real hoot to bust some poor rimfire shooter at 50 yards with a lowly air rifle ;)
