I am getting real close to finishing my 6.5X47Lapua custom.
The first pic is the rear iron sight. James Anderson did the stippling and the numbers on the rear sight.

The next picture is the grip cap that James made and some of the checkering.

The 3rd photo is of the front sight.

The frontsight has stippling on the top of the ramp. I can't find the photo at this time.
For those that haven't been following this build, It is a Pierce chromoly receiver, Shilen trigger, custom engraved bolt handle, 3 pos safety, recoil lug was located under the receiver, custom scope bases, custom iron sights, Lilja barrel cut in a full octagon. It has been engraved by Ken Hurst a member of the FEGA engraving guild. It is being rust blued and just a little assembly and it should be here.

You should be extremely proud of that work,I cant think of a soul that wouldnt be happy to own that rifle.

Well done Butch.

Very classy.

Does the rear guard screw get timed?

Just "too pretty" for words. I don't think I would ever shoot it. Just too nice to get dirty. A real piece of art! Beautiful workmanship. Besides showing a lot of "CLASS"!

By chance do you make it to the SCI convention in Reno? The pictures of your work got me thinking, and off to the gun safe I went. Would like to see some of your other work along these lines, and do you work on doubles?

Ethan,
I only work on my own personal stuff. James Anderson does some of my metal work and my stockwork. I am lucky to be able to work with some very talented custom builders. James built my rear iron sight as he didn't like the one i built. He was right. He cut the octagon on my barrel and made a replacement trigger guard. I built a real nice one myself, but my buddy that drew it up dimensioned it had the bolt hole centers off and to save time James did a new trigger guard. I have posted pics of some of my other wood stocked customs on this forum. A search may show them.
