Congrats to all! Hope you have a great time at the worlds in SC and shoot well. Paul, Dave, and Dan will of course bring back some souvenirs for the rest of us in Holbrook (I hope).

PS: Grits aren't considered a souvenir.

As someone interested in getting into the Airgun game, will there be an equipment list for the upcoming World Shoot? It would just give some of us an idea of what equipment to look at on the upper levels to keep from buying inferior equipment to start with. Do you guys use the same style rest we do in Rimfire or is there a different set-up required? Thanks for any helpful tips. Tony

Not so sure the World's type shooting will predominate many club's interests once the match is over, though airgun BR will likely continue to grow at a good pace. I think there will be more emphasis on the higher power guns, and not quite so much on the 12fpe and under, from what I've observed.

Anyhow, the main difference between top USA rimfire front rests vs airgun rests as are being used at the Worlds is that one-piece rests are disallowed for the Worlds. Due to the close distance and relatively wide paper span, rests that smoothly and easily cover 18" up and across are a plus, though I've seen automotive scissors jacks used to good effect.

As to equipment, I sure hope they list the requirement used by the competitors in detail in the World's results. Anyhow, to get started, it seems nearly any really decent Field Target type rifle can be readily adapted, unless you are going for the "unlimited" class, where 30fpe+ power in .22 is popular. Right now, I'd say the unlimited class is heavily populated with modified Theoben Rapids and fairly standard USFT rifles, though of course about any rifle capable of accepting a good barrel and delivering thirty + shots with good power can be made to do the deed.

A good clear scope that can focus clearly down to 25yds or less, and some good flags are needed too.
