Tasco 709 Barrel-Mounted Scope

I am about to take delivery of a used Anschutz 54 that will come with a Tasco 709 24X barrel-mounted scope. It looks like a Unertl but appears to be internally-adjusted like a Redfield 3200. I know nothing about this model of Tasco.

Can anyone give me some information about it? Optical quality, repeatability, durability? Any idea of what they would have sold for and what current value might be? I searched the web and found nothing. Thank you.

Good luck, Dave...

...I have tried to discover something about those scopes for a neighbor friend to whom was given. His is the Model 709 and is 24x. The only thing I found worthwhile was an e-Bay listing for one like yours; the reserve was $425, as I recall. Good luck; I hope you are more successful in ferroting out something about those things.

A 1971 ad shows the model 709 24 power 40mm scope "on sale" for $57.95 regular price $129.95. 9 lens optical system. The clicks are quoted as 1/4 minute with 7 inch mount spacing. Quoting the spacing indicates external adjustments. The fixed targets came in 12, 16, 20, and 20 power.
A 1971 Unertl catalog shows the 1 1/2" (about 40mm) target priced at $121.
Since the Tasco model is so unknown it's value is probably zip. But who knows -- give it a chance it might be a "keeper"
Hope this helps

Thanks...

:)That is by far more information than I was able to find anywhere else.
I have printed it out for my neighbor's info.
