I got my targets on July 14th. I thought I e-mailed you to that fact. We will be having matches as soon as we can come up with a day of the month that the club will let us us. As of right now all our weedends are full with shooting matches of some kind.
We hope to be able to have a night match to get started with. I will be sending you a check for the memberships in a day or two. I will also require your mailing address.

Thanks

Hello Larry

Well I thought I sent them a couple weeks back but did not see a confirmation from UPS on my computer. Turns out while I was in FL my wife sent the targets for me. I had several boxes ready to go so that they could be sent in my absence and forgot that she took them dowm to the parcel point for me.

I keep a log book of items shipped on the orginail order form and write the ship date of the form to help make sure I don't miss sending items to the clubs as needed.

I still have to send rulebooks to everyone but have been waiting on a final version of the rules before doing so. The rules themself will remain basical unchanged but I have to make a set of standarized forms before having them printed.

Ron,

Where we are about to enter into August, why not just let everyone grab what they'll need for the rest this season from the website, like we have been doing, then wait until after all the winter suggestions and discussions are through before bothering with a printed hardcopy.

Just my .02¢ worth.

Dave

Dave, that's basically what I'm doing.

The offical rule book will actuall be the completed document for the upcoming season.

My ideal is to try and make sure we have most of the bugs worked out so that we have addressed the database needs and standarizied between all the clubs as to formats for reporting results and such minor detail that really mess with the program we are using to keep track of our scores.

Disparity

Several around our area, don't feel comfortable shooting a .177 against 20 & 22 cal Air guns. In the beginning, you should have kept it simple.

Fred,

I'm the only one up here that is limited to shooting a .177 as that is all I own, but really don't feel like it is any disadvantage at all with the rules being what they are: using a stepped plug when scoring the .177's and a standard RIGS .22 plug when scoring the .20's & .22's. When you drop that stepped plug into the hole it's simply amazing how big that little caliber scores on paper. You could swear you had dropped points that will plug in equalling anything a .22 would have done.

Some day I may eat my words, as some day I am hoping to buy both a .20 and .22, but for now I'll say they are about as equal as can be after the scoring is done.

Olden days

I quess most of them, can't forget what LB tried to get us all to do. Shoot .177 against the larger caliber 22.

Ron has done a pretty good job of making this about as level a playing field as is possible to have while allowing everyone within a class to fairly compete against one another, even when using different caliber guns.

Friend Fred

I have been shooting a lot of 20 cal pellets lately and although I feel it has a little better ballastics profile on paper , I have not seen that bare out on my targets. The stepped plug for the .177 cal makes it very easy to score your target at the same diameter of the 22 cal .

So far, with one exception, all records have been shot with a .177 cal

I got my 2nd package of targets yesterday. How much do I owe you for them? The last package was $37.00 but I probably owe you some shipping charges. Just let me know and I'll get you a check in the mail.
Also when we join do we get a scoring plug?
Larry Burchfield

Scoring plug's are $5.00 each but first ones is included in sanction fee

Larry
I send every match director a free plug as part of your range sanction fee.

As to the targets, Yes they are $37.00 per hundred, delievered to your doorstep. Since I sent the extras by mistake here's what I want you to do.

You keep half of them for your club and divide the others up among the guys that come to shoot with you. Give everyone some of them for practice targets and you guys enjoy your first match. ;)

How do I join the benchrest airgun group?
Do we have decals and patches and such?

Please advise

Hello Shadow

Certainly you are welcome to join our group of shooters. We don't have any membership fees for indivdual members and at some point down the road I'll print some decals and some other promotional items.

I guess the best advise to give you are first is to take a look at our new website www.airgunbenchrest.com and look at the rules and the targets we shoot and decide which class or classes you want to shoot.

I think the closest club to you is going to be Larry's in Texarkana
