Club Coordinator
On April 1st and 2nd, Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club held their first group benchrest match of the year. This contest would determine the winner of the Allen Bench trophy. Saturday was chilly, and the forecast was for medium to high winds. Conditions were mixed, we did get a few breaks where it was calm, but rarely quiet, but Saturday was just a precursor to what Sunday would bring. We began with our light varmint contest at 100 yards on Saturday morning which was won by Jeff Crose with a .2028" agg. That afternoon at 200, Larry Boers showed his shooting skills and won the yardage (.2368"). Bryan Zolnikov on bench 18 took the LV grand aggregate with an agg of .2502", with Jim Stipe second with a .2550" aggregate, and Eric Stanton in 3rd with a .2618" agg.

Sunday brought more severe cold and windy conditions for us. We had every conceivable condition, sometimes all at once. We shot the Heavy Varmint class at 200 yards in some horrible conditions. Mustafa Bilal shot a .2311" agg. to win the yardage.
At 100 yards, Mustafa Bilal took the yardage with a .2098 agg. Mustafa Bilal held on to win the HV grand aggregate (.2205"), with Bryan Zolnikov in 2nd place (.2395) and Jim Lynn in 3rd place(.2641)
Bryan Zolnikov wins the 2 gun with a .2448" Grand agg.
Bryan was definitively in control the whole match. Congratulations Bryan!

It was great to get our benchrest friends all together once again. Thank you to Jim Stipe (Stipe Engines) for his beautiful donated trophy, and Eldon Yarbrough for traveling all the way from Oregon to come shoot with us. A special thank you to Mark Henderson (TRRC RSO) for helping setup and take down target frames.

Of special note: Match winning groups were shot by Jeff Crose, Larry Boers, Bryan Zolnikov, Musafa Bilal, Jim Lynn, Jeff Lewis, Jim Stipe, Eldon Yarbrough, and Ken Parsons.

A big thank you to our amazing crew! New target crew Case and Cole , Mark Henderson, Geoff Hallett and Craig Kensler are the behind the scenes guys making things happen.

Thank you!!

See you next month for the Manley Oakley memorial shoot.

Shoot small,
Jeff
