Supressor as a tuning device?

Just wondering if a supressor can be used as a tunig device? Here is the way the rule reads.

7. MUZZLE ATTACHMENTS. A muzzle attachment may
be attached to a rifle barrel when used as a tuning device. The
rifle, with the attachment in place, must still meet rifle weight
requirements. Once the command “Commence Firing” is
given by the Range Officer, there shall be NO adjusting of
muzzle attachments at the firing line unless the competitor
removes his/her rifle bolt and remains seated. If a competitor
stands or does not remove his/her rifle bolt prior to adjusting
his/her tuner, he/she will be disqualified.

What a coincidence. Yesterday I told my lady friend what a great idea I had. Making a muzzle break and tunner combination for my long range prairie dog gun. A 6-284 that I also shoot at 1,000 yd matches. The dog shooting is the most important to me. Am about to order a new barrel to try it with. I printed all the pictures of tunners on the web site and started to mentally design ones She thought I was just being lazy sitting around all day. I told her I was thinking. Don't think she believed me. Don

As you can hopefully see, there is a standard tuner in a couple of the pics, and a tuner/brake as well. I basically copied my standard tuner by simply tapering a Harrell's tuner down in a similar fashion and making a jam nut to lock the setup in place. The nice thing about the Harrell's brake's is that they are all threaded 32tpi, and this one has a major thread diameter of .750". The tuner/brake weighs in at around 7 oz's. I use this brake in IBS registered competition.

Hal,

This brake is not a supressor. Would a supressor be allowed in competition. I understand I still need to make weight, but if I did, would my gun be leagal?

Here is a pic of my supressor on another rifle.
