Suhl 150-1 questions

I got this a week ago or so and it is in original configuration. After finding an ammo it likes (Eley Match Black) I shot a 249-14X in a friend's back yard using only one wind flag. Since I think I can improve the score by getting a new stock I am thinking about putting the barreled action in a BR stock. Any recommendations in this area? Don Stith sells a laminate already inletted and that is certainly a possibility. But I am thinking I would like something other than a laminate, not sure yet.

Also, how is the barrel fitted to the action on the 150-1? Pinned, threaded?

Last question: How does a Harrel tuner fit to the barrel? Is it threaded on, a "press fit", or secured in another fashion?

TIA,

Jay

Stith Stocks

Don can more than likely make the stock in any wood type you want. His stocks are very nice they do require some final finishing. I don't think you can go wrong with a Stith stock. Here's a Remington 541-T wearing a Stith Classic Benchrest Stock in Walnut.

The bbls are pinned.

Most tuners are bored to be a precision fit onto your bbl and they use pinch bolts to snug it up. Don't crank down on the pinch bolts or you can distort the bore although the Suhl bbl is probably too big in dia to worry about that issue.

There also a press fit along with the pin's.
