I am building a 2000 yd target rifle in 338 edge.
Group and score from a bench.
Looking to a wheeler accuracy stock
Bat m or Kelbly golden bear action
Would like some suggestions on bbl profile and length....28 or 30 or ??
Not settled on a bbl maker but do like krieger and broughton.
10 twist works with 300 gr bergers
No real weight limit( under 40 lbs!).
Recommend a great brake ?
Help

Not sure how heavy you want to build it my hunting ones are generally 8.5/9lbs plus ready to go, at least a .820 muzzle & 3/4 muzzle thread is an advantage.
Too large muzzle diameter/heavy barrel puts quite a strain on the action.
More velocity with a 30" barrel & Retumbo, N570, RL33.
Make sure you run a faster twist that 10 if you want to run 300s at 2k+
There are heavier than 300s on the horizon as well as monolithic's so a 9 twist or possibly faster would be an advantage
Terminator muzzle brakes are worth a look at, 18 models, 13 different threads in some of those.
Its a great cartridge been running them on & off for nearly ten years.

I have built them on 28” and 30” light palma contour with 9.3 twist. Worked great for 300smks. Save your money and get a 4 port rossbrake. Work just as good as any others (see YouTube). H1000 was always the most consistent year round, but r33 was faster and pretty accurate.
