Stuck Case

Ever do something that makes you feel really, really dense?
This morning I was checking the bullet seating depth using the felt marked bullet in a slightly bent case mouth (once fired case) method to find seating depth to touch the lands. I closed the Kimber on the 7mm WSM . I fought to re-open the bolt and the round stayed in the chamber. I might add that the round was also difficult to close the bolt on. I believe this chamber to be very tight and that the brass was slightly ( 0.2 mm) long which created a "pinch" effect and effectively created the stuck case.
I have tried to remove the case to no avail and have the thing packaged up to send to my gunsmith but wondered if anyone had any ideas on removing the case.
I have used this method for years and never experienced the problem I now have.
Thanks

It might be a dumb question but have you tried a cleaning rod down the muzzle and into the empty case ??

I can't imagine the case being so tight you couldn't knock it out with a good stiff cleaning rod, careful of the crown.

Been There done that

Yes I did try that and no It did not budge. Wierd I know. I wouldnt believe it if I wasnt looking at it.

It will probably require a steel rod with a flat end... close to the bore diameter, wrapped with tape every few inches to protect the bore, long enough to stick out the muzzle about 3 inches... and standing the butt stock on the floor, a hard whack of two with a hammer... protect the crown from the hammer...

mission accomplished Thanks Dennis

Found a 6mm diameter steel rod,cut to length and a couple of whacks with a hammer drove the damn thing out. What are the odds of having a steel rod that diameter around the house. Was a frame for an archery target.

Rod

Go to hardware and get a copper or bronze .250 rod.

Does not mar the barrel and will handle everything up to 375.
