Need a Benchrest stock for a Turbo rimfire RBLP and I'm wondering what most folks are using? Shehane, Stith, McMillian or what?

This rifle with be set-up for the 10 1/2lb class. If you have one you want to turn, please email me - thanks.

One of the best that I have seen out of wood is made by Bill Pippin. He does a good job. Bill Myers also does good work.

Thanks Mr Pepper

I already ordered a Sheshane ST-Baby tracker............should be good.

Why wood? I asked the question concerning the choice between wood and synthetic a year or so ago and the general opinion seemed to be synthetic is the best choice. Now I see everybody that has answered chooses wood. I like the McMillan Edge. You have to paint it to make it really pretty but it does everything else very well.

Beau:
I'm beginning to see more wood stocks than in the past. Lots of pretty wood at the Winter Nationals. You could choose between Myers, Shehane, Prine and Stith. Some believe they absorb vibrations better.

Fred,

I guess that's possible. That's what I thought a year or so ago and people told me I was wrong. Wood is pretty and looks count.

Didn't you know that wood is worth an additional 100 points...:rolleyes::p

one plus for wood. If it isn't straight you could tweak it by removing a little wood. You can't do that with Gelcoat.
Their is some wicked good shooting wood stocked sporters.

Beau,
I have both wood and glass stocks. Both do very well. I like the feel of wood, but I can't say that one is better than the other. I hope that you enjoy your new one as much as I do mine.

For wood - Don Stith has a good selection.

For synthethic - Shehane Tracker is the very best IMO. Mfg by McMillan for Shehane to his spec's and designed by Bill Shehane as I know it to be. GREAT STOCKS.
