Stock configuration and design

While at the cactus classic I noticed a few changes in stock designs. One of the things that caught my eyes on the stocks was a small rail or rib that sticks out on the side of the stocks. This new to me design was on the Scoville and Scarborough stocks. I'm sure that the small rail on the side of the stock is there for stability and tracking. Do any of you have this type of design in your stocks and have you found it to be a benefit to your guns?. I am going to order a new carbon fiber stock and was wondering if I should go with this type of design

Can you find a picture? I wrote a comment, but deleted it because I decided that I may not have properly visualized what you described. If it is what I think that it is, it could be an advantage. In my experience, cutting edge stock designers do not make changes just for bling.

If its like the rest of the ones theyve always done its those indentions in the side of the forend that the bag curls up into

The couple I have seen of Bob's are like a version of the McMillan Edge, but the "edge" does not run all the way back to the wrist.

hi

The small rail or rib you noticed on the side of the Scoville and Scarborough stocks could indeed be designed for stability and tracking. Such features are often incorporated into stocks to enhance ergonomics and provide better control over the firearm during shooting. The specific purpose and effectiveness of this design element may vary depending on the manufacturer and model of the stock.
When considering whether to choose a stock with this type of design, it's important to take into account your personal preferences, shooting style, and intended use of the firearm. It can be beneficial to handle and test firearms with different stock designs, if possible, to see how they feel and perform for you. Additionally, reading reviews or seeking advice from experienced shooters or firearm enthusiasts who have used stocks with similar features can provide valuable insights.

Behold.... a bot

This is a perfect example of a bot phishing for engagement.......

Don't pheed it :) Don't klik on it and engage directly. They're not scary, not hard to spot, but they WILL take your info if you let them in.

If you think you might be talking to a bot, call it out. Real people get all indigginant, that's easy to fix.

The bot is like a blacksnake trying to get into the nest, but the best it can do is weave and bob looking for a hole.

Better to have a fellow human momentarily annoyed, AND, if they're that sort of human you may have dodged another caliber of bullet ;)

The biggest problem is that we have millions of people so scared of being "aggressive" or non-pc. We've built for ourselves in such a culture of pussies that 99% of all the words spoken in a day are "non-specific"....non-subjective".....non-confrontational"......"nice"..... we're unable as a culture to discuss, to disagree, to confront realities head-on...... in short, we've become a culture unable to LEARN, to discern. Bots and "AI" will take our stuff, IS TAKING our stuff, because collectively we've become stupid.

We've succumbed to the "can't we just all agree" jargon.

I had high hopes that free-for-all discussion forums would act to bring back discussion but nope, the pus-heads grunt and cry and the folks who ask the telling questions, and those who provide supported answers simply fade away, tired of fighting the unthinking mob.
