For those who may be interested Steve Acker's The Gunsmith Machinist Book Two is now available from the Villiage Press.

Steves first book is very well written and a good addition to anyones library. The second book should be a continuation of good gunsmithing techniques.

I did a Google search but can't find a source to order it.

Any ideas? Even Village Press does not have it on their web site.

Roy:

I went on the Home Shop Machinist website and drilled down to the Village Press Books For Sale. The cost was $45.00 plus shipping. I have not received it yet but I have recived confirmation of the order.

I know Steve personally and he said the books had just come in from being printed. I know that both Brownell's and MidwayUSA have had the first addition books For Sale. I would assume they will also sell the Second Book when they get them in hand.

Thanks Nat............I ordered it up. I have his first book and gleaned a few good ideas from it.

Gents,

If you go to the Home Shop Machinists site, click on shopping, click on store, and then type in Steve Acker in the little search window, it will pop up.

I have Acker's video on chambering and it is well done. I would recommend it to those looking to get into rifle building.

Nat and the others: Have any of you bought the book "Building a Single Shot Rifle Action" and built same? If so, how did it go, what are your thoughts, etc.

Thanks,
Justin

Justin:

I have been collecting Gunsmithing books for about 30 years. I go through the Bibliographies of each book to look for other sources I might be interested in. I am specificly intrested in Bolt actions. However I have several books on Single shots. In my opinion Frank De Hass books are the most comprehensive. Single shots are not my expertise and there are those who shoot them and work on them exclusively. McFarland has quite of information on single shots as well.

Good luck
Nat
