STEADY AT THE BENCH

He’s lived his life for his sport
and though he may not be rich
He just checked his ammo
He’s steady at the bench

His hands they may seem shaky
But you won’t see him flinch
He just set up his spottin scope
He’s steady at the bench

That ol’ rifle settin on it’s rest
has seen many a gunsmith’s wrench
Like him it may show it’s age
But still steady at the bench

He’s never won the nationals
he’s gave it many a try
He won’t give up , he won’t quit
Till the big shoot in the sky

I can’t shake these doubts and fears
No matter how I try
His years of wisdom and experience
Always gets him by

His finger on the trigger
Takin up the slack
He went down this road when it was gravel
Paved it on the way back

His hand are steady, now mine shake!
I can’t make it in a clinch
He knows all the secrets
He’s steady at the bench

where did the thread go?

Howdy Gambler! I had been watching your thread about a sleeper sporter, trying to figure out what small amount of input I could add that would be useful. I was also hoping to learn from it. You mentioned a thread about Remington 37s, I can't find it. Matter of fact, when I try to search for any threads about Rem 37, no matter how I type it in, I don't get anything. I get every Remington thread, I guess I have to go fishing for them.

Could you please repost your thread about sleeper sporters? Also if you can explain to me how to find that post about Rem 37s I would appreciate it!
Nice poem too!

Thanks!
Greg

it looks like a lot of the old post were dumped some time back....might have been a website crash!!
i posted it back in 2003 before i went to the dark side, i think, it was hundreds of replies and umpteen thousand views...really an imortal thread....

i was wanting suggestions for the best platform gun to tune up and still look factory stock, i'm thinking something in a 54 anschutz or p94 sako, but thought someone on here might have a better idea ?

this place has changed, seems to be mostly interested in big name SPEC rifles!

thanks for your reply
Earl
