Hello, I was just wondering who bought Clint Starke's bullet-making dies, and is he producing bullets with them for sale?
Thanks, Steve Long.

starke

Hi Hovis,
thanks for the info!! I'll check with Bart on it.
Thanks,
Steve Long.

FYI- Clint got out of the bullet making business in April 2003. Clint had some rotator cuff issues around this same time. He was working a full time job along with trying to fill orders for 17, 22, 25, and 6mm bullets. Clint is still in the core making business for those who roll their own.

Clint's 17 cal dies were sold to Chan Nagel in Idaho who still makes awesome shooting bullets. The 17/25's are a coyotes worst nightmare.

the 22 BR bullet dies were originally purchased by Bryan at Zia . Bryan then sold them to Bart Sauter. Contact Bart for info on 22 cal BR bullets.

I'm pretty sure Clint kept the 22 RPVB set of dies and makes them on occassion. I bought some from Clint 3 yrs ago as they were listed on Ebay.

The 25 cal dies were originally bought by Jeff Millender in North Dakota. After realizing he didn't have the time to invest in bullet making, these dies were sold to a private individual thru the BRC classifieds. I beleive the new owner only makes bullets for his personal use.

The 6mm dies were also sold to an individual who makes bullets for his personal use.

hope this helps as Clint's bullets were the real deal. He was in the bullet making business for a total of 7 years. The rotator cuff problems and a full time job got prevented him from filling the high demand for his bullets.

starke bullets?

Hi all... thanks for all the info posted......
Mike, thanks for the pm on the 69 grainers, but I am checking on any availability of the starke 52 grainer .224 BR bullets. I THINK.
I have a box in the basement, bought a barrell from a guy, and it shoots them great. I'll check the box & put some details on this thread, as an update on the bullet I'm looking for.
Not sure, I'm getting the picture CLINT made both varmint (red prairie?) bullets and a different BR bullet.
Not sure what I have, so I'll check the box, and post to see if anyone has 'em to sell.
Thanks again, Steve Long.

Get a box of Bart's .22 bullets from Sinclair's. They shoot as well as most any and they are available.

bill,

i have no current contact info for mr starke.

if you do a search of this forum "starke", his email address should come up.

maybe someone who has an older box of bullets can check to see if there is a phone number on the label.

starke 52's BR

Hello, Bart Sauter now has Clint's dies. See BART's under the bullet section on this site.
Thanks,
Steve Long.

starke - more

Hello, update - Bart's website doesn't seem to show his ZIA offerings (formerly STARKE bullets) - so you'll need to refer specifically to what you want.....best way is thru email. I THINK.
Talk to Bart, he'll steer you right.
Thanks for the emails, BART!
Thanks, Steve Long.

I have an older box of Starke bullets The number on them is 1-888-797-3431.

The part I can not figger out is the 22 bullets I have are "br .224 55 gr", the only bullets I see from Bart are 52 gr. Why the differnce in weight?

Well...

The 52 grainers don't have as much lead in there.

Both a "cutsie" comment and the plain truth all at once.
