standardized scope mount spacing

Im guessing there are some standardized scope mount spacings and trying to match one up. Its a thompson R55 rifle and the pairs of screws are both closer than any of the weaver mounts i have. I took a quick eyeball with the a mic and it looks like its close to .425. Any idea what the spacing actually is? I can drill holes for a mount at school but cannot take the gun to school to check it on the comparitor or mill. Im wanting a one piece aluminum weaver mount and none are avail.

Run in a couple of screws until you run out of thread. Measure them outside then inside with your verniers. Deduct one screw shank diameter from the outside measurement. Add one screw shank diameter to the inside measurement & if they both agree, you're pretty damn close.

thanks

I do that, forgot i had screws with those other weaver mounts.
