I`m looking into building a varmint/br rig, and I cant seem to make up my mind on which material to use.

To me the "steel" versions sounds more wear resistant, they are also usually nicer looking, most are round and not boxy like the aluminum ones.

I guess they are both equally durable since the Aluminum ones has been around since the 70s and have won their fair share.

Could you describe which material you prefer? And why? Or is it the attributes the action has that decide its the one for you?

Mine would be steel... You said Varmint before you said BR. A Varmint hunting rifle gets extra where and tear that a BR rig doesn't get... Br Rigs get cleaned all day everyday. Sand and dust are common both in the BR game, and in the Varmint killing game... But BR shooters clean their stuff all the time. Varmint guys clean when and if they can when and if they feel like it. Mine would be Steel not Stainless or Aluminum.

Just remember that all of the parts that do the hard locking on a Stiller or Stolle are made of steel.
