Just curios, has anyone ever seen someone shooting the Springfield Armory 1922 MII in a benchrest competition and do well?

Pat, I have probably as nice a one that you will ever see. It is not close to being competitive in a BR match.
The first br match (actually my one and only) I shot in I was using my US Springfield 1922M1 with a borrowed Litschert scope and missed first place by one "X". I would have to say that Yes, they are totally competitive. By the way, most of the shooters were using waaaay more modern rigs like Annies. Made me feel pretty good to beat them with a 60+ year old rifle and scope.

Here's a typical target from it.
I was strictly going for group size, not placement on the target face.
Springfield on top, Winchester 52A on bottom. Springer has a 10x Unertl, Win has a 25x Lyman Super Targetspot
