Spotting Scope Stand

I have finally realized the benefit of having a spotting scope on the firing line while shooting F/Class. I've got a spotting scope but need some info on a good stand. Any help and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

If you can find one, a Ray-Vin F-base stand. If you can't... a Manfrotto 055 or 190 tripod w/ pistol-grip head is about as good as it gets for a wide stable base that can be positioned out of the way and still hold the scope stable and right where you need it. Generally more stable in the 'up' position than any of the traditional HP stands, and works better if you use it for other things such as standing behind someone to spot for them during sight-in. Only downside is that it takes up a lot of real-estate when in the 'low' position - fine if you're shooting one person per firing point, but if you shoot Fullbore at all, the person next to you is likely to snivel a bit :cool:

Thanks for the heads-up on the super spotter scope stand. I got a notice from Creedmoor Sports that the polecat stand was in so I ordered it. If you had replied to my post a day sooner, I would have ordered yours. It looks like a quality unit.
