YES - we had the tournament. I was the first vehicle to be stuck this morning & thanks to another gun club member we were successful in ferrying our gear to Range 12. We started about an hour late due to all that; however, Mother Nature blessed us with no more rain and the range dried out enough that all were successful finally getting their vehicles to Range 12 to load up for the trip home.

There were 18 Senior Unlimited Competitors; 5 Senior Factory Competitors; and 1 Junior Unlimited Competitors.

Darek Biggs took home the "GOLD" as well as a nice plaque for Junior class winner with a 185.5 aggregate + points.

Mike Kirkpatrick took 1st Place in Senior Unlimited shooting a 194.33 aggregate without points. (Most of us gave credit to one of Joe Chacon's rifles that he shot) but it was great shooting. Joe Chacon came in 2nd with a 192.00 aggregate & I eked out 3rd place with a 190.67 aggregate. 1st high target was a 194 shot by Terry Paradee; Mike Kirkpatrick took the 2nd high with a 196 as well as the 3rd high & the HIGH for the DAY of 198; I managed to have the high 4th target with a 195; a 4 way tie for the 5th target of 193 between Mike Kirkpatrick; Joe Chacon; Ken Finley; and Paul Dyer was broken with Joe Chacon receiving those honors; the high 6th target was a 197 and shot by Mike Kirkpatrick as well. What a field of Competitors!

I took 1st place in Senior Factory by breaking a tie with Ken Finley (on 6 total targets) due to having the highest score on 1 target.
Ken Finley was 2nd with the identical aggregate of 184.83; and Bill Middlebrook was 3rd with a 176.83 aggregate. The high 1st target was by Ken Finley with a 187; 2nd target was a 188 by me; Ken had the high 3rd target with a 189 as well as high 4th target with a 187; I had the High for the DAY of 191 on the 5th target and the high 6th target with a 185.

Most all are looking forward to the Texas State Match in 2 weeks in Boerne to wrap up the year for ABRA competition. Hopefully we San Angelo shooters can make a good representation again for that - I'm looking forward to it.

I'd like to wrap up by thanking ALL those who helped make this a Wonderful tournament! Paul Dyer smoked a perfect briskett; Darren Krumwiede got the tent up with assistance from Jim Swaringin; Bill Wynne helped with ice and transporting it to the Range; Adrian Morales helped get target backers up as well as breaking down the tent -etc.etc.etc. I appreciate ALL fo your efforts and apologize if I've missed someone.

Finally to ALL you competitors - we thoroughly enjoyed it and wish to compete with you again - you're welcome here anytime!

Results are attached - See you at the Range,
Ron Herring
