Anyone know where to obtain the plastic aperture inserts for a Redfield Olympic Globe Sight.

Also, what if any are the advantages of the plastic inserts vs the steel inserts?

That is exactly what I was looking for, just couldn't find who sold them.

Any thougths on metal versus plastic.

Could go with either. Personally I like the metal inserts as the plastic ones could get scratched and if you use an Iris at the rear sight the scratch could be magnafied and bother you.
Just my $.02

The plastic ones, hands down. No big glob of metal to block out target. Get the full set in the storage pack. Been using the same set for 20 years.

Thanks for all the inputs.

Don, I was leaning toward the plastic set and just needed that input to settle it. Will get the set ordered.

Thanks

Plastic also allows the option of filter colors. I always hated the support bars on metal sights.

Clear

I prefer the Clear Plastic as well. Fing the correct size for you intended target get difficult if you need one larger that 4.2mm. I have had to use a numbered drill set to open an insert it get it to give me the proper amount of white around the bull because I needed 4.4mm. Hope this helps.

insert thoughts

The only benefit of metal inserts is the horizontaly line that allows you to confirm the gun is level. I like plastic.

I use the Anschutz adjustable front sights. No hassle with all those inserts and you can make a size change in a few seconds. I use them on 52D's and Feinwerkbau olympic airguns.
I'm very happy I graduated away form the insert routine hassle.
