What year was this made? It is a custom built rifle with a DIETZ barrel and a custom trigger that I'm trying to ID.

I used this in 1000 yd matches at Perry in the early 90's and I'm going to get it back on line to out shoot the stuck up old farts that think they are the best at the local range on the 300 yrd matches. Now I'm just kidding, those old farts can teach me more than I have forgotten, but I've got to try to get a little respect from them somehow..... Hee Hee......

I'm getting the wood redone, I am playing with a few scopes to put on it, but when I went to the Win. site and tried to run the S/N it did not come back.

I know the trigger is custom, it pulls at about 1/4 lb to 1/2. I'm going to have to have it measured though......

It is a shooter and I would like to learn more about it.

Any help out there?

Thanks, GRP

Your action dates to 1950 or 1951, the range is s/n 173150 to 206625.

Or, it's a gun made in 69 or 69. The serial number range for those years is 925908 to G941900, but from looking at the "G" series serial numbers I think the G prefix was added to the continued numbering, so this is really not the likely time for the gun's manufacture.

The serial number in your post has too many digits.

Exactly right.

If it's a Pre-64 it should have no letter prefix and no more than 6 digits. The last of them (in 1963) had a SN just above 581000.
