So, how nice is the CZ #453 in 17 HMR?

I just came back from a tour teaching ground squirrels how to be flying squirrels in Utah. I couldn't be happier with the rifle. When the wind got strong I broke out the Sako 223, but actually the 17 HMR was more fun to shoot. I was able to make 150 yd. head shots. Very nice!

I was getting worried about you. I thought you left us or something. :D But I'm glad to see your back. I'm also glad to see you had a heck of time killing them ground squirrels. Those 17HMR's are a blast.

Thanx for the welcome! No I'm not gone. I just needed a rest from "it", and reserving my comments for those that will discuss issues politely!

I didn't think I'd like the 17 HMR as much as I did! A bonus is that it doesn't scare as many squirrels away as my 223.

Mr, D,

Don't let others get to you here.

These guys get too riled up at times.

I think you are a great guy and I'd bet others would probably think so, too if they ever met you.

Take care.

I was in Idaho squirrel hunting last weekend with my CZ 452 American in HM2.
I brought an Savage HMR but rarely got it out. The little Mach 2 was kickin` butt and takin` names. CZ makes an outstanding rifle. Mine is a light barrel sporter. With shooting sticks 100-125 yard shots were capable, if I did my part. As an added bonus, Ammo is a bargain @ $4.00 a box compared to HMR. :)

How much better is the 453 set trigger compared to the 452?

I agree with the comment on ammo prices. If I lived in an area were I could shoot more often I'd think more about ammo prices. Diesel fuel prices are the big issue when I go shooting! Yikes!
