SO-CAL Regional Sept. 9th

Open Grove will be hosting the Southern California Regional Air-Rifle Benchrest Match on September 9th, start time 9:00am sharp. Please arrive by 7:30am to sign in, draw bench, what relay and certify you are shooting the right class. Considering we only have 5 benches and dependent on how many plan to participate in this event, we will have to limit to 4 relays. It will be an all day event if we run into 4 relays, so be prepared. It would help me be more prepared to have a pre-registration, so please let me know at your earliest convenience either by email at jafracing@hotmail.com or give me a call at 805-444-8521.

The classes in contention will be either LV or HV. You can not shoot in both classes, pick what class you are most comfortable with. There will be practice on Saturday Sept 8th from 9am till 4pm. The range will be closed after 4pm the 8th for preparation for Sundays match.

There will be no entry fee for this event, we will have lunch ( don't know the menu yet till I get a better head count). There will be plaques awarded for 1st-3rd in both classes, plaques for high cards, and a plaque for overall winner. There will also be cash awards given to the top 5 in both classes, high cards and the big one for overall winner. Each participants name will be put in a hat, when drawn they will pick a envelop all containing different amounts of cash . Everyone will win something this way. There will be $1500.00 in cash given away.

I only ask of one thing, that we all help out to make this event run as smooth as it can, and most of all be safe and have fun.

I will put together a list of nearby hotels and post within a few days.

Regards,
Joe

For those that don't know what the rules are in LV and HV, please download the rules at www.wrabf.com and look under the air-rifle section pertaining to total weight and energy of your rifle in the class you intend to compete in. You can also go tohttp://www.usairriflebenchrest.com/ and find details and links to get you squared away. All targets will be shot at 25m.

Any questions please feel free to call or email.

Joe,
Thanks for putting on this event... and especially in such a generous way! Eat your hearts out east coast guys:)

At what point in time do you need us to decide if we are shooting LV or HV class? The world postal is LV only... right?

Wacky Wayne

The 2012 World Postal Championships is a LV OR HV match. The USA shooters choose which rifle class they will use in the competition. We are fortunate to have that choice. The rules are set up in that way since many countries have FPE restrictions and those shooters are limited to LV only.

And, yes, many of us, way out here on the east coast are jealous that Joe is on the west coast and is hosting this match.

Joe, thank you for having the ability and means of providing such a match. In my many years of competition I can never recall a match with no entry fee. We as an association are pleased to know people such as you who love our sport and go to these ends to support it.

We all thank you and are most proud to call you friend.

Respectfully
Frank Tirrell

PS, LOL..........Is brother Wayne inciteing a east and west coast throwdown, rivalry or challange?....now that would be a match.

Your Welcome.

We had a cancellation, there are 2 spots open. I will need to know if anyone is sharing equipment. Those that attend for Saturday's practice will draw for benches and relays, the remaining benches I will draw for Sunday's match. I haven't talked with Steve but I would like for the match on Sunday to start at 8:30am instead of 9:00am. It's going to be a long day.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Regards,

Joe

Joe:

I will be sharing a benchrest Tim Mac-1.
If possible it would be apprecitated, but not required, to have us on the same bench in consecutive heats.

Thanks for the seat time yesterday. The orange blossoms in bloom were wonderful to the senses. Brought me back to my child hood days of playing in the orchards of my youth in North California. Even down to the puffed eyes and asthmatic sneezing last night.

2nd card 232 3-x
3rd card 235 8-x
4th card 223 5-x
