Sniper King wake up call July 4th -July 6th, 2014
The Unlimited shooters up here in the northwest look forward to this one all year. The Sniper King trophy is the oldest continuously awarded trophy in Benchrest, (since 1944) and over the years many have worked awfully hard to get their name on it, often to no avail.
Please join us July 4th ,5th,and 6th, 2014, at Tacoma Rifle and Revolver Club in beautiful Western Washington for the 70th annual Sniper King match.
We will shoot 10 shot Unlimited groups beginning Friday at 9am.
We do have a brand new award for the overall agg for the 200 yard 10 shot events call the AGG KING, but this is quite a unique shoot in that the Sniper King trophy is awarded to the guy (or gal) shooting the smallest 10 shot group fired at 200 yds. That small group is more important to us than the agg, which is just the opposite of the way it usually works. It makes for an interesting shoot. During the weekend shooters get 15 chances at 200 yds to get that small 10 shot group, as well as the Sam Wilson Memorial & WA State Unlimited. Last year, Gary Ocock and Larry Boers tied for a spectacular finish. Each shot a 10 shot group that measured .294".
UNL10/10/5 100/200 Sam Wilson Memorial, WA UNL Championship & 2014 Sniper King and the new Agg King trophy donated by Puget Sound Benchrest Association.
We will draw for benches Thursday evening at 7pm, and begin our first match at 100 yards Friday at 9am.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WILL BE SHARING EQUIPMENT OR NEED SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION !!
Course of fire will be:
Friday July 4th UNL 100/200 10 shot
Sat July 5th UNL 200/200 10 shot
Sun July 6th UNL 200/100 5 shot
Entry fees are $40/day cash or checks payable to TRRC
