Slow vs. Fast Ammo

It seems conventional thinking is the slower the better, but I've noticed Eley producing some faster lots of ammo lately. Faster of course being maybe 10-15 fps faster than "slow". I have recently bought a couple of 1 and 2 machine lots at 1071 and 1070 that are as good as anything I've seen. Anybody else experienced this? Does velocity within the typical range really matter that much or is it just what we get stuck on?

I have had both fast and slow shoot good at different times. Sometimes I think it's the luck of the draw. My best intill today was some Tenex off Mech. 2 at 1052 fps. Today some Match off mech 1 at 1065 out shot it. I think you just have to try some of it all.
