Sierra bullets - 6.5--107 gr

I was shooting the sierra 107 grain, ran out of old lot and opened
a new box from different lot. The new lot is much longer , having more
bearing surface, like maybe 80 thou. These are actually very similiar to
the 123gr sierra. Seems odd they would change that much. Anyone
know what this amounts to ?
 
I don't know the date on your old lot, but I bought my first 300 or so in early 2010 and found them very close to the 123's. The 108 and 123 Scenars are even closer than the SMK's. I wonder why the BC is so different if the length and shape are almost the same? Weight?
