Shipping cost thread - deleted and reason

I didn't read the thread before it was deleted. Pretty sure my son removed it and not one of the moderators. As I understand, the thread was a consumer issue and fell under the very nebulous long standing "rule" of NO CONSUMER ISSUES.

An alternative method would be to state something like "I just got cheated - send a PM for details". That could possibly allow an offline discussion and would serve the purpose but likely not. Inevitably, someone will respond with "Why not just say it here?".... and off we go.

Additionally, I haven't always agreed with the moderator's decisions but "second guessing" is out of the question for obvious reasons. I can attest that every thread/post that I delete is painful.

just wanted to say hey to you. sorry for putting this on your post. :)

I'm feel like it may be time to revisit that second guessing thing.

If you will read what Wilbur wrote, you'll notice that it was likely Elmer who removed the post, not a moderator. Elmer, like Wilbur, is an administrator. More than likely, a number of the borderline political posts were removed by Elmer as well.

Think of it this way: he treats us as if we were adults.

Francis,
When I delete, it goes away completely, with no comment, and I really don't want to get into a discussion about that deletion, because the person that I would be dealing with would be the one who lacked the judgment that would have kept him from making the post in the first place. If I want someone's opinion about a deletion, I will ask before I do it. After I have done one (infrequent) I don't care about anyone's opinion except Wilbur's. Deleting posts is a pain, because it is often subjective. One does not want to be to restrictive, or too loose with the rules. Of course I am not referring to simple spam. Trust me, I don't sit around gloating about my tremendous sense of power, but I have seen what happens when a shooting site is totally unmoderated. It was not a pretty sight.
