Id bet its got too slow of a twist for 75-90 gr bullets if its a br gun. Probably set up for 52gr br bullets id bet
 
I really like those old Shilen DGAs. We have one that was Colonel Maurice Kaiser's 1,000 yard rig. Probably the same vintage. It's set-up for a 30-350 Rem Mag minus the belt.

And I agree, I assume that twist is for lighter bullets. Unless it has been rebarreled, most weren't shooting heavy 22's in the 1970s.

rate of twist is 1 in 14...
it was a 222 until 1986.i built it in 1977 I think.would have to look up my record book I keep for it though.
the rounds through it I belive is close to 500 to 600 now.am going to have the chamber redone for lapua brass this winter.i now shoot the Remington 6 mm br brass now.
