I've known a lot of people, gunsmiths and shooters. As I sat here last week I keep thing that Shelley and Larry Fuesse shouldn't get together. The reason, it's because of guys like Shelley and Larry who are always thinking of ways to better the equipment we use to better our sport and would spend hours talking about "something" they would like to try AND doing it. The one's who think outside the box not carrying who thinks or cares what others think of the experiment(s) they are working on. And the main reason I was here was to really pick Shelley's brain on all the things he's working on an how he does it. I sat here night after night watching Shelley chamber barrels, making tuners and talking on the phone for up to 1/2 hour at a time answering questions an helping those who called him. Shelley's shop closes at 5 an no weekend work. However, it was always after 5 an always on the weekends people called. There was never a complaint though on the nights we went out to dinner he would say he was sorry. Shelley taught me how to chamber a barrel, my first an he engraved it with my name on it. Tomorrow I leave for the Cactus an I feel like I'm leaving home. Those of you looking for a gunsmith who can do great work AND have the time to talk to you.......... give Shelley a call, you won't be dissapointed, he's also a great friend. And to think he was so thankful for the 1/2 hour worth of yard work I did for him, that's the kind of guy he his. Shelley, thank you for putting up with me for the past two weeks, your a great friend to have!! Thank you.
