This possible President of the United States - Read Below and ask yourselves, is this REALLY someone we can see as the President of our great nation????

Are you says that Mr. Obama's recent comments are to be compared to documents written thousands of years ago and then translated over and over again into many languages, some with no written words to convey the origional meaning?

I don't like quotes like these because they may be taken out of context, its always better to have at least the complete paragraphs or better yet the ones before and after the one the quote is taken from as well. I'm sure one of the resident liberals here have the books on hand and reads them nightly for guidance, I hope they would share the contexts from which these quotes come from.

I hope we Conservatives won't lower or standards to that of the masters of innuendo and half truths that our liberal friends have become.

I personally feel he is a racist and bigot based on many things that we have discussed before, but the main reason I won't vote for him are his commitment to higher taxes, his stand on the second amendment, his stand on the war on terror, and immigration but mostly because of his lack of experience in the economy, and national defence.

I would like to commend you on your high minded ideals and the good reasons that you are not likely to vote for Obama. Although I think he is a fake, the real reason I will not vote for him is because I don't like him.:)

Simple enough.

Any truck driver, taxi cab driver and any other person who drives a vehicle should vote for just republicans if they expect to prosper and leave a country that their children can prosper in.

The republicans want to drill and refine and Obama, Pelosi and the rest of them wont. That is why with a majority in both houses of congress their approval rating went down to only 9%.

Boy that is something to be proud of!!!!

The offshore oil exploration limits were instituted originally by Nixon as was the creation of the EPA. The ANWR drilling ban was created by George HW Bush and continued by Clinton and our current President. Do you ever actually research any of this stuff?
 
who ran congress during those administrations, Hint, democrats, during Bush 2's first term the dem's while in the minority kept threatening to filibuster any action on anwr.
If you look at nearly every vote on opening anwr the republicans are voting to drill, the dems not to. The ban is 27 years old which makes it beginning in 1981 the first Bush was in office from 1989 to 1993 in 81 Regan was president, and the congress was ran by democrats.
Just because something was passed in a president's administration doesn't make him responsible for it.
 
Gentlemen, The more you argue about the merits of one party or the other, the more you buy into it and become mired in the real problem. As I see it the real problem is that BOTH PARTIES are wanting to take my money from me and spend it for me on things that they like.

Yes spending is out of whack with any sense of reality, and BOTH parties, Both Houses, have this one thing in common, they want to separate you and me from our money. The reason is not important, neither is the thing they want to spend my money on. The important thing is that you need to start voting against those who spend my money (and yours) for us. Because the truth is that we the middle class are already paying for school lunches and free health care and welfare for the low income in this country. Let's end the sham, our poor drive cars and have microwaves and color televisions, and have enough discretionary income to buy cigarettes and beer and tattoos! (What other country has such luxuries in the hand of their impoverished?)

Vote the bums out. Both parties. Because the sad truth is that there is not the slightest difference between a liberal republican and a conservative democrat, they both steal from us. Neither Obama nor McCain will change this fundamental problem, and neither will your incessant whining about one party or the other. McCain is the most liberal republican and Obama is the most liberal democrat. And we are pretending that either of these is a gem of a candidate? pfffft.

I realize McCain is republican light but he is far right next to Obama, would I like to see someone more conservative running, heck yes.
I agree Kick the Bums out and start over.
 
Both sides should hang their heads in shame for the poor chose of candidates.

On June 18, 2008, President George W. Bush pressed Congress to reverse the ban on offshore drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in addition to approving the extraction of oil from shale on federal lands. Despite his previous stance on the issue, President Bush cited the growing energy crisis as a major factor for reversing the presidential executive order issued by President Bush Sr. in 1990, which banned coastal oil exploration and oil and gas leasing on most of the outer continental shelf. In conjunction with the presidential order, the Congressional moratorium banning drilling was first enacted in 1982 and has been renewed annually. [29]

The report also states:

"Additional oil production resulting from the opening of ANWR would be only a small portion of total world oil production, and would likely be offset in part by somewhat lower production outside the United States. The opening of ANWR is projected to have its largest oil price reduction impacts as follows: a reduction in low-sulfur, light crude oil prices of $0.41 per barrel (2006 dollars) in 2026 for the low oil resource case, $0.75 per barrel in 2025 for the mean oil resource case, and $1.44 per barrel in 2027 for the high oil resource case, relative to the reference case." [31])

For the average case, drilling in ANWR would reduce crude oil by 75 cents, in 2025. The total production from ANWR would be between 0.4 and 1.2 percent of total world oil consumption in 2030.[32]


Gentlemen,
I agree that this bickering between republicans and democrats is a waste of time. Issues are important and healthy debate on the issues is necessary to the strength and resilience of our nation. This constant demonization of the other side is childish and stupid. The point I was trying to make was that there is a bigger picture. I misstated the creator of the anwr ban. George HW Bush actually created the offshore ban by executive order.

There are several on this board that seem to be in a constant mode of slamming democrats and liberals for every bad thing they can think of and some that they make up. If you want to blame our ills on one thing(silly thing to do) blame it on demagoguery. This nation was built on compromise and the notion that compromise and consideration of the opposing view is a weakness is simply foolish sophomoric demagoguery. It's no better than the democrats railing about how evil and hateful the republicans are.

We could spend all day finding evidence to support the demonization of the other side. While we are occupied with that useless endeavor, there are very powerful and wealthy interests devoted to raiding the US treasury and US markets with the help of either or both parties. They don't see either party as the enemy. They view them equally as the tools they are.

We need to spend more time educating ourselves and quit spreading around hateful unsubstantiated rumors and emails designed to demonize the other side. That's exactly what got us where we are today.
 
Remember the phrase "Divide and conquer" ?

Patriotic Americans have divided themselves into devisive groups and spend their energies fighting the opposition instead of fighting to protect America. In this way America will fall, because Americans will not stop fighting irrelevant internal batles until our enemies have overrun us.

Republican vs Democrat
Green vs everybody else
Labor vs management
Liberal vs conservative
Gun banners vs gun owners

Wake up America, before you cease to exist. As screwed up as this country is today, it can certainly get worse if good people don't pay attention.
