I would like some input on Shadetree coaxial rest tops. Your experience or opinions. I plan to have one installed on a Ranson rifle rest.

ShadeTree Rest...

Alvin:

You have to understand you are asking us to evaluate the product of one of our own. Butch Lambert is either loved or hated depending on if he is beating your score at the time. Butch strives to produce a superior product. If you buy his product an are not satisfied with it you can return it and he will give you your money back. That says a lot about him and his rest. I think you will find him to be easy to deal with. He will return your calls and work with any issues that you may come up with. I have never met Butch in person but have conversed with him on many occassions over the years. He is an ambassator to the benchrest community. He has loaned me tools and given me advise on many occassions. We may not always agree but we have each others respect. I expect him to jerk my chain every chance he gets. That is just his competitive nature. I don't think you can go wrong with his rest. There may be better rest out there but there are many more not as good.

Good shooting Alvin

I have been useing his rest for a couple of years now. It is a good rest top. As with anything, it's probably not perfect, but neither is anybody elses IMO.His rest is very good and is a good value. I highly recommend it and him, as he is a pleasure to do business with. I personally prefer it to the compact Farley. Again, this my opinion. Buy it, if you don't like it, he will probably refund your money or you can sell it for about what you gave for it.--Mike Ezell

shadetree

I haved used his top i bought from Wayne Blacketter an i really think its nice because i cant aford a farly

I like mine

I've been useing Butch's rest for two years and like it fine. I've improved my shooting since using it. It is well made and has never needed readjustment since the original adjustment at the factory.

Alvin, if you are the same Alvin thats been shooting the matches at Fairfax, I'm sure Steve would let you play around with his a little. For that matter, you can probably get a feel for a full blown Farley, and I'd be happy to let you mess around with my SEB...Hal

Thanks to all who responded, sounds like it is a very good rest. Yes Hal it is the same Alvin and thanks for the offer. I shared a bench with Steve once but didn,t pay attention to the rest he was using. I think I will order a Shadetree.

Hi Alvin,

In addition to Steve, there is another local shooter (Tom) who has two of the Shadetree tops.

Excellent products and you can't go wrong dealing with Butch...drop me a PM if you'd like to use one of mine (or share a bench) at one of the upcoming matches...I don't make all of them due to kids, but hope to at least make the 100 half of the VA States coming up...I just want to be sure to remember to bring both as I normally bring only one unless one or both of my boys are shooting with me...
