Hi, I'm new to the forum and to Benchrest sport shooting for that matter. To get started and keep cost down I narrowed my purchase down to a CZ 542 Varmit and Nikon Monarch 6.5X-20X. The trigger has had a job and is approximately 1-2lbs. with a bit of creep. And I shoot off bags. I'm curious as to what would be a good score on UK scoring platform. The custom gun guys here are hovoring around 248's with >7x to break the ties. Here we have to obliterate the x to get it (no just touching it). I dont expect to compete with that as its a little tough to compete with precision rests and 1oz triggers. Where should I set the BAR for myself. Right now I'm in the low 230's with good ammo or with wally world bulk federal match ammo , and I seem to get me about 4-7 X's every time I go out. I think if I could get to the low 240's I could be happy. The other thing I guess I have to consider is break-in. I have heard it take a CZ about 2-3K rounds before consistancy smooths out.....Is that true........What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
