Selling a lathe here...

Would it violate forum rules to offer up a lathe for sale here in the gunsmith forums? I've got an entry level gunsmith lathe with DRO and tooling that I'd like to pass on to someone as I am upgrading to a larger machine. Our business has grown to the point that I can justify the purchase and I don't need 2 lathes. The lathe is 1 year old and in excellent shape.

If it doesn't violate anything here on the forum and I get approval from a moderator I'll take some photos and do better with the description. I just don't really know who to ask.

ad's are free this month...so to be on the safe side, and not pizz anyone off...why not place the ad, then tell them there is more info on the gunsmith forum......

The forums really are not for posting ads of things for sale.

The classifieds are...

Just looked at the classifieds and curious as to what category he should use. Nothing in the equipment category is close. Maybe need a new category of "Tools and Machinery"?

Not to piss off the management, but sometimes it seems they get their panties in a bunch over nothing. Sure it makes sense and it's good organization to have things segmented logically. However as someone pointed out.. there is no classification for what you're selling.

Cut the guy some slack.. and moreover give those interested in gunsmithing a chance to see something that they may not otherwise be looking for.

How much do you want for the lathe?

If I were advertise any of my shop equipment on Benchrest Central I would place my ad in the "Equipment" - "Other" category...

I would post a link to several large jpeg pictures (no larger than 1200 pixels wide) and lots of accurate description.
