Selecting a 6 PPC die set ?

I recently purchased a Viper DP in 6 PPC. Fired unsized cases were included along with a fireform barrel That has a larger (.272-.276 for blowout then turn purposes)I'll have to look NK dia.(the Good barrel is a .262 NK). Question Can I Send Hoenhe the Good fireformed /turned measurements and get a good fitted die set or should I just send him a few cases. TIA. Roger T.....BTW Whos' 1"(for Weaver T 36) or (30 MM Nightforce BR) Davidson style rings should I look at getting. It's set up as a LV rifle so maybe The NF would be to hvy any how.

Send cases that were fired at least once after fire forming, with a stout load. A couple should do. I presume that you meant Harrell's.
 
I send Harrell (or Jones or Hornady or whomever) three zip-lok bags of cases inside a gallon zip-lok.

bag#1 is three "perfect fit" cases

bag #2 is three "tight but shootable" cases

and bag #3 is three "like to gall your lugs" cases.

I don't specify how many firings.

Send me 6 fired cases, and I'll make you a die that exactly resizes correctly for your chamber.

I'll be more expensive than Harrells, but it will fit better.

I have had Jim make me a couple of dies in the past, and they size my brass perfectly. No more click or sticking of the bolt when opening after firing them 4 or 5 times.

I'll second Jim's Carstensen's dies. They are excellent with a perfect fit that sizes the cases correctly. He gets them done quickly and is great to deal with. He has done three dies for me and they have all been perfect.

Jim's dies are great, but for those who are cheap buy the harrels number 4 and you are good to go, is the harrels the best, nope but it will do for those who just shoot casually,


buy Jim's if you can they are great, and unfortunately he is nice as well : )

3 of Jim's dies currently. For my money, he makes the best die you can ever buy. Be sure you talk to him when you order your new die. He can build to do anything you want as long as use he wealth of experience to insure it is perfect.
