Anybody in southern MN (or MI) heard of Herbert Hames Sr. of Lake City MN (deceased)? He was a fairly well-known gunsmith who sporterized Springfield 1903s, (much to the dismay of collectors today!)
His son, Herbert Hames Jr. of Livonia, MI died with over 300 rifles in his home. His arsenal was auctioned off on TV a few years ago.
