Seeking gunsmith

I'm looking for a gunsmith to build a classic style sporting rifle using Winchester 52 rifles I have. These are well used rifles and may need new barrels. I would prefer someone in the Midwest but would consider anyone who has expertise and experience with win 52 rifles and can do the work in a reasonable period of time.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Doan Trevor you will be very happy classic to target look at his web site. You won't be disappointed.

Another option...

From 1993 to 2002, copies of the Model 52 Sporter were made by Miroku in Japan. These were sold as copies of the Winchester 52B, but were actually closer to 52C sporters (including the Micro-motion trigger). These were initially sold by Browning, but later, by Winchester. An example of one of these rifles may be seen at http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=363371764 .

Depending on the model and condition, an unaltered 52 target rifle can be worth more than a modern sporterized model.

Boilermaker,

I am working on a project right now building mini dangerous game rifles on 52C actions it is a very involved project requiring a lot of fabrication in fact I am making new receivers from scratch in order to get the finished result I want. The plan is to build one or two extra, I currently have five Lilja barrels custom profiled and 3-4 complete guns spoken for one of those being mine which means it is probably for sale also lol. This may be more than what you are wanting but I' sure I can help get you going in the right direction if you want to contact me.

Some features of these will be:

Square bridged receivers
Extended tangs w/safety
Quarter ribs and associated barrel hardware
Blackburn bottom metal or custom (mauser style floorplate)

Nick(ndh78) is an excellent custom smith and machinist. I don't think Nick will be inexpensive, but they will be works of art when completed. Pictured below is a 1917 Enfield Nick worked on for me.

Stock is being roughed in. Check the rear scope base and bolt release.
