Sears backs our troops

Just wanted to pass this on.
By federal law an employer has to rehire a military member after their military service is over. Sears goes one farther by paying them the difference in there military wage and what they made working for sears, so their is no pay cut.
I am sure their are other companies doing it as well and I think we should let them know we appreciate it.

There are several companies do this. One I would like to bring up is Toyota. I know we bash a lot of foreign companies but these guys have their act together. While in Iraqi, we had several National Guard guys from southern Indiana come over. A couple of these worked for Toyota. Here is one of the stories.

Guy gets a call from Toyota to report on Friday to fill out paperwork to start work on Monday. On thursday before he's to fill out the paperwork, he gets a call saying he is being mobilized immediately as a fill in and has to report in two weeks. Afraid of not getting this job, he calls and they tell him to come in on Friday. He goes fills out the paperwork. Then they tell him he doesn't have to report to work on monday, he should spend the next couple of weeks with his pregnant wife and that they are going to pay him a 40hr work week until he gets back and if he has any trouble with the army paying for his wife's medical bills, have them sent to them. I'n not talking about difference in pay, I'm talking about a full 40hr pay check. Top that.

The main company may not be American but the subsidiary in Indiana is an American company and runs with a lot of anonymity. I hope others will name companies that also support our troops with actions as well as with words.

Sears

Good for Sears!
I was looking for a bandsaw and was going to buy a cheapie from a local freight store(since I will be using it mainly to lop off barrel ends) and I saw the blurb on here about Sears. I got online and ended up buying a Jet bandsaw from them. As I was checking out they threw in free freight so I guess what goes around comes around. They also beat the price every place I checked on the internet for that particular model. At least I have something to be happy about on this Election Day !
