What are the possibilities of installing a choke tube in a barrel with a fixed full choke.
Also a litllte advise would be great.
The barrel is a Rem 1100 in 20ga.

buy a newer barrel for it that is already threaded, cheaper than adding chokes to a fixed barrel.

Measurements have to be taken to determine the final wall thickness after reaming. Most Remingtons are capable of being threaded, but many need to use the thin wall Tru Chokes. There are charts that give you the required base O.D. and I.D.
Not near my chart at this time...
The tooling is expensive if you are considering it. For one gun, it is far cheaper to farm it out.

Thanks,
I was going to try and save a friend a few bucks over buying a new barrel. I didn't realize that a reamer is used instead opening it up on the lathe.

I bought the Tru Choke kit in 12 ga many years ago and the cost of the kit far exceeds the cost of a new barrel. And it's not just the reamer but a tap as well.
