Scope weight

I am making a few changes in my setup this spring. Going to add a 6" rail on the front of my LG for tracking purposes and to match my HG. To make weight I plan on switching to a lighter scope. How accurate is the mfg's listed weights on their scopes? NF NSX lists 34 oz. (36 oz. for the br) and leupold 40x comp lists in at 20.3 oz. This should give me 13+ oz. to play with.

I don't want to buy a scope and find out after that it is heavier than listed!

Thanks,
Tod

If your using a rest system were you remove the center section and end up with a little gap between the front and rear rests make sure your lightgun stock is long enough to span the distance. On my set-up the lightgun is way shorter than my heavygun.
On the tracking rails if you have a Tap Plastics store nearby have them make your rails out of HDPE plastic as its not too heavy and it will run you around $20 ready to mount on the gun.Its the best bargain out there.
