You know you got issues when. . .

. . .It's a Friday night and your up till 3am running scope bases. . .

I decided to run a batch of these due to the volume of SS custom actions I've been getting as of late. Labor intensive little biches.

Programmed the contour as a surface model as it makes it easier to match the contour of the receiver and I can use off the shelf tooling rather than having expensive form tools ground. These are all right off the machine. They look much nicer after an hour in the tumbler.

Anyways, I better get back to work!

The view from the front of the action seems to show the RH lug raceway cut deeper than the right, and the threads seem to be missing in line with it. Why? Long extractor?

Chad,

Would you be willing to post another couple of pictures of that wood rest with particular attention to stock clamp arrangement?

It looks sort of like a modified "C" clamp. I could whip up two or three of those in a couple of different sizes and they would sure be handy. Especially tall like that. I'm not real happy with the one I bought. I can probably do it with out the picture but I hate reinventing the wheel.

Indeed its just a C clamp with round shoe on the non moving side and a flat plate on the ram side of the clamp. A guy around here used to make them with leftover scraps of plywood.

I'm in the process of having a local kid who does cabinet work whip me up a handful with a little better clamping system.

Interested? I don't imagine they'll be outrageous. If they are he can keep em!

I'll post pics when he brings me one done.
