I took a 4 in by 6 in piece of hardwood 1 in thick. Drilled a hole in the exact center and countersunk the bottom side of the hole to accept the 1/4 x 20 bolt head. Attached a Manfrotto 222 joystick head. I clamp it to the bench with a C clamp. Eye piece of my spotting scope sits about 1/2 in higher than my rifle scope when in the bags. Works like a charm. bob
