What scope would you reccomend for a anschutz exemplar 10" barrel for 50yd br. I tried a muller on 25x but the par. won't be that precise. I'm thinking of a Weaver T36 or Bushnell 8-32, and where are the best prices. I'm leaning towards the Bushnell, because if I want to put it on my varmint rifle down the road it will do better than a fixed model. With the pistol when you pull your head back like I normally do, and the gun is in the rest the cross hairs will move o/s the 10 ring. This isn't a problem on a rifle for varmints, but is for br. I also don't want to spend much over $400 if possible. I know I could do better with a rifle, but I like shooting pistols, and this really helps when shooting PDs with a pistol.

I tried the bushnell 4200 8 x 32 & a friend I shoot with tried the same scope..we are both had the same problems..shifting poi . Nikon monarch 6 x 24 fch & Weavet T-36 are the scopes i'm using..like them both for the $$$ spent. He has a night force..to much money for me

Just got a new rifle and looked in the closet and found a JAPANESE BSA 36x44 and will mount that in the Suhl..

Jody: when I looked at that pistol Saturday I did not notice what it has for mounts. If they are Weaver you can try a Weaver T24 with 4X booster on it and if they are Anschutz dovetails I can pull a Weaver T36 off a rifle for you to try. Both are usually in the car. Just ask next time you and I are there. bob finger

Thanks Bob, I have the Millett high rings mounted in the dovetail, the Muller has a 44 bell so I needed high rings to clear the barrel. I can get a .3" group with 5 shots, but when I start to move from target to target, and look thru the scope, and move my eye around the crosshairs move. I've tried, but can't seem to be able to adjust it out. I always thought if it was 50yds. you put the parallax on 50, and adj. the rear for a clear view, but I was told on Sat. that's not always the case. I guess I have alot to learn. I shot a 232 ish., but think I can be in the mid 240s if I get everything right. I shot a 244 and 3x with a Marlin 17vs, but it had a custom beded br stock with a BSA scope, and I was told custom stocks aren't allowed, so I got a factory stock and my groups went from 1/2" to 3/4"+ not really good enough. Now that I'm shooting my pistol I'm having more fun anyway. Thanks again Jody

Jody: Sounds like you have a parallax problem.

First put a white hanky or similar over the front bell and adjust the rear ocular for clear crosshairs. You can point the scope at the sky to do the same thing but its harder. Don't stare thru the scope while doing this...your eye will adjust. Take a look, look away (or close your eyes) and adjust then look again.

Once that is done adjust focus very carefully...get it clear then bob your head up and down a bit and see if the crosshairs move on the target. If they do readjust focus very carefully and slowly until the cross hairs stay on the same spot on the bull when you bob your head. The Salisbury range is NOT 50 yards. You were on bench 14 I think which is closer to 160 feet. Ten feet makes a BIG difference in parallax. (bench 13 is 162 feet and bench 24 is 154 feet....you need to readjust parallax when moving down the line). bob finger

Read the instructions

As Bob said, adjust the eye piece first. I use a large plain white card or sheet . The distance doesn't make any difference. Get your cross-hairs as sharp as you can. Then adjust the Objective lens at a set distance, preferably the distance you will be shooting at. Pay no attention to the markings on the objective. They are only a starting point. If the targets out of focus after you get the parallax set, use may need to send that scope back.
