Was wondering if anyone has compared the new Sightron SIII 8x32x56 vs a Weaver T-36 what are your views.

The Sightron 8-32x56 weighs 24.7 oz
The Weaver T36 36x40 weighs 16.7 oz

The Sightron should noticably reduce felt recoil and by cranking it down to 8x it could be useful for hunting werewolves (or other varmints) under a full moon.

The Weaver T36 is a proven decent 100-200 yard benchrest scope.

What were you considering using them for? Certainly one wouldn't be better than the other for all applications.

Well, I've never looked through a T36, I own V16's and a V10, Grand Slam 6x20, and I've always liked Weaver glass. But, you knew it was coming, the Sightron S111 8x32 is just beautifully done. It makes the Burris 8x32 Black Diamond look very weak, and rivals if not beats the clarity in my brother's 12x42 br Nightforce.( his opinion ) It tracks great, my new F class scope, and I believe when I move the knob the adjustment will be right there.
