I have noticed when I have my gun sighted in at 1k and back the scope down to shoot 100 yds I am about 6 min left at 100. When I go back to 1k I am about 60 inches right. nightforce 12-42. Has anyone else noticed this problem? How does one fix this problem or make the nessary adj. I dont think it is wind. Thanks in advance Buddy

You probably have the scope canted in the rings.

Chuck.

It sounds like your scope crosshairs aren't square with the rifle. You're talking about a 6 minute of angle misalignment.

I have my own method of setting up scopes but it depends on a tweaked collimator I own - which doesn't help you at all. Maybe somebody has an other method that works.

Well one way that works is to level your rifle in the rest, use a bubble level to set it dead flat, and sight onto a target at 50-100yds that has a vertical line on it. One way to get the line is to use a level or a plumb bob to scribe a line and use masking tape to bolden the line.......set the crosshair against the side of the masking tape.

keep it simple

Like Al says look thru the scope of a level gun at something level ...like the target frame ((check it with a pocket level)) or a building-barn-house somewhere around(( old Navy trick))...just look at the edge of the structure--it is plum....or electric poles ...most of them are pretty close...they are prolly closer than your crosshairs are now....Roger

Another possibility is the scope and bore are not in alignment.
